What NOT to Feed Your Dog on T-Day

The Alternative Humane Society of Bellingham, WA posted this important information on their Facebook page regarding our dogs and Thanksgiving dinner. Please, share this important information with others today. As tempting as it may be to share your dinner with your favorite pet, please, do not.

Today as I was out walking in the rain and wind with my faithful friend Bronte, I realized how much joy and peace she brings into my life. I didn't meet up with any other dog walkers until the end of our morning loop. It was a woman who was out with her two labs. We stopped to exchange a few words about the weather and about our wonderful companions.

She started to tell me how much she relies on the unconditional love that her two dogs offer her. That they never complain and that they accept her for who she is. I definitely agreed with her, and we both just took a moment to look at our lovely friends and celebrate the beauty of doghood.

I am thankful for my beloved animal friends . . . and for all of you who support the care and kindness that organizations such as the Alternative Humane Society provide. Through your volunteer hours, donations, and caring, we all can TRULY make the world a better place for all of us creatures.
